How Paternity Testing Works

A paternity test determines whether a tested man is the biological father of a tested child. LABS TO GO conducts legal, informational, and prenatal non-invasive paternity testing through DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC) at a highly competitive rate.

Painless Sample Collection

A sample of the child’s DNA is compared to a sample of an alleged father’s DNA. Samples are taken from a cheek (buccal) swab, which has been proven to be just as effective as a blood sample for this kind of testing. Buccal swabs are simple to collect, painless, and are widely used in the majority of paternity tests today.

Mother’s Participation

Though not strictly required, results are strongest when the mother also participates in the study. Results have been proven to be up to 100 times more accurate when all three are tested. Involvement from the mother also allows her access to the case, results, and documentation.
